Current Positions
Student Support Services Teacher
Hours: 4 days per week, (Monday-Thursday; 8:15 a.m.-3:15 p.m. for teachers; school day is 8:45-2:45)
Start Date: August 18, 2025
End Date: May 28, 2026*
*Note that these dates are the dates of the school year itself. The contract begins August 1st and ends July 31st of the following year. Note training times normally required below.

Description
Arborbrook Christian Academy in Matthews, NC is seeking a Student Support Services teacher.
Our school is a four-day a week Christian school. Our school uses the Charlotte Mason philosophy of education.
There are several training days required for teachers every year. These include three days in the summer (August 4-6, 2025), two days in early October for the Childlight conference (October 9-10, 2025), and an In-Service Teacher Workday on February 5, 2026. Childcare is not provided during these training sessions.
Requirements
All teachers must have:

- A teachable spirit. They must be open to training from a supervising teacher and the academic director. A positive attitude and cheerful demeanor should accompany their teachable spirit.
- Knowledge of our Charlotte Mason philosophy, as it impacts our culture and day-to-day decisions.
- A four-year college degree, preferably in Elementary Education. Previous classroom experience in an academic setting is preferred.
- Competency with technology, including our online school management system (SIS/FACTS) and Google Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, including grammar and the ability to write well.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
Manage Teaching Responsibilities
- Work with small groups of elementary students who need extra support in academic areas.
- Work with individual elementary students who need one-on-one instruction in academic areas.
- Push-in to elementary classrooms to work with students who need academic support.
- Tutor students using Orton-Gillingham specialized instruction and other research-based strategies in reading, writing, and math.
- Create lesson plans, assessments, and other materials based on student needs.
- Develop goals for Qualified Accommodation Plans.
- Collect, graph, and report progress monitoring data twice per trimester (6xs a year) for students who receive pull-out or push-in services.
- Interview and consult with teachers about their students who have Qualified Accommodation Plans. Provide consultation/training for teachers on classroom strategies, differentiation, and assessments.
- Prepare for parent conferences in the fall (October) and parent conferences in the spring (May). Participate in additional parent meetings as needed.
- Revise Qualified Accommodation Plans annually/as appropriate.
Support Schoolwide Success and Achievement
- Conduct student observations.
- Assist with completing educational evaluations, reporting the evaluation results, and providing recommendations to the admissions team.
- Provide consultation/training for faculty and staff on classroom strategies, differentiation, assessments, and Qualified Accommodation Plans.
- Monitor that Qualified Accommodation Plans are being implemented with fidelity and provide consultation/training for teachers.
- Monitor that Action Plans are being implemented with fidelity and provide consultation/training for teachers.
- Prepare Curriculum Based Measurement (CBM) materials for Lower School.
- Remind teachers about important CBM deadlines, gather CBM data from teachers, and generate and manage reports for Lower School CBM data.
- Monitor that CBMs are being administered and scored with fidelity and provide consultation/training for teachers.
- Attend meetings with teachers, parents, and staff as needed.
Assist the School Psychologist
- Assist with managing student records, including scanning and uploading documents to student portfolios in FACTS.
- Support the School Psychologist with preparing trainings for teachers/staff.
- Assist the School Psychologist with preparing for and managing schoolwide standardized testing in the spring.
- Complete various administrative tasks such as printing or organizing materials.

Cleaner
Hours: Hours for this position are flexible after school Monday – Thursday (or on Friday). Total hours are 15-20 hours per week.
Salary: The hourly wage for this position is $20 per hour.
Position Summary: Arborbrook Christian Academy seeks a Cleaner for its campus. This person will be responsible to clean school classrooms, common areas, and restrooms during each school day.
