History
Arborbrook Christian Academy
2005-2006: was the inaugural year for Arborbrook Christian Academy. In August of 2004, the Lord brought together four couples that shared a common vision, similar goals and like-minded values for the education of their children. These four couples: Steve and Naomi Heidorn, Marty and Lori Grem, Jeff and Sue Gayle, and Price and Mary Osteen, although strangers to each other at first, were soon convinced that it was the Lord's will to open a new Christian school in the western part of Union County. These couples became the founding board of directors for the school and met together frequently for one full year. Prayer, planning, hard work and God's favor brought the school into existence. More than twenty pioneer families agreed with the vision of the school and prayerfully decided to enroll their children in the school. By June of 2005, the school met its maximum enrollment of 40 students for the inaugural year. An additional thirty families joined the school for one or more of its home school elective programs.
2006-2007: marked the second year for Arborbrook. Our student body and staff doubled in size. This school year was marked with great advances in the development of our curriculum and philosophy.
2007-2008: During this remarkable year, we added our first high school class and our first athletic teams (flag football, boys and girls basketball and co-ed soccer)! We enrolled 105 students in grades K-9. We renovated the entire lower level of the education wing and added four new classrooms. We added three new couples to our board of directors to help the school fulfill it's mission. One high light of this year was our first international mission trip.
2008-2009: We underwent another expansion project during the 08/09 school year and renovated an adjacent house to be used for the high school. Our school grew to 140 students in grades K-11. This was the year that our board officially adopted the Carver model of Policy Governance to strengthen the leadership of the school.
2009-2010: We are currently enjoying our 5th year of operation at Arborbrook Christian Academy. We purchased a 2000 square foot modular building affectionately known as “The Quad”. The quad houses our growing high school and the Jr. High students moved into the building that we used for the high school last year. We currently have 170 students in grades Jr. K-11 and 36 faculty and staff members! God is stirring hearts and there are many more exciting plans underway.
2010-2011: We are excited to watch the "history" of Arborbrook continue to unfold as we gear up for the next school year. Will you be a part of it?
